as part of the Noosa Longweekend Major Minors program
July 7-11, 2008
The following drama and video clips were created over a five day period - other video logs and related material can be found on YouTube and our Ning Site.
Cyberdrama is a new, ground breaking form of presenting performed narratives online. You’ve seen All Saints, ER, GP…now you can participate in creating and presenting Noosa’s own Hospital drama/parody that will unfold across the week. Working in teams you will create video clips of performance and other online materials (photos, etc) with episodes being uploaded everyday to You Tube on a specially created website.
If you are 14 -18 years of age and experienced in or have a strong interest in drama, film making, music & sound and/or digital & multimedia technology then this workshop is for you. Whether you want to be in front or behind the camera or working on production, this week-long workshop will give you experience and skills in being part of a Creative Team producing cyberdrama – the new genre of theatre making and presenting. You will be working with Sue Davis, lecturer in Arts Education at Central Queensland University and a leading exponent of Cyberdrama working with young people; and will have access to the CQU 6-bed hospital training ward facility to film the action as well as access to CQU’s nursing educators to act as medical advisors to ensure your drama is real-to-life. Minimum participation required 5 days Monday-Friday 9am-1pm each day. The will be opportunity to extend your involvement to 5pm each day if you’re keen to further develop your experience.
