We need good people to become custodians of the Trees

There have been some amazing scientific breakthroughs recently. It appears that the secret stores of knowledge that trees have held within them will now be revealed. A consortium of Australian and international researchers have shared their discovery with trial groups. They are now asking that we in Australia discover and share the stories of our trees.

(Teacher's note: Here is a link to an education package you can use for this project)

(Thank you to Paul Sutton and project partners C & T for their involvement and contributing this clip)

2. Custodians needed

Not just anyone will be able to hear and interpret the stories of the trees. Talented and committed people are needed to become Custodians. Will you be one of them? To become a custodian, you must fill in the profile form and select a tree to become custodian for.  Not everyone and every tree will necessarily be accepted, apply today.

3.  Join The Custodians and share your work

Custodians shared their findings on a special Ning site which is no longer available and other social media and online platforms (wikispace, Flickr & YouTube. Other groups of custodians can share their findings on their own online space. For more info on Sunshine Coast native trees check out Noosa Native Plants and What Local Native Plant is That?
